An addition of only 1000 steps per day to a child’s activity routine contributes significantly in reduction of body weight. Physical activity also reduces the chances of health related problems. Only a small percentage of children suffer from child obesity caused by hormonal problems. Some children may also have a propensity to be obese due to hereditary factors. During treatment of child obesity a cap should be put on the child’s TV time. The obese child should not be allowed to see TV for more than an hour a day. It is necessary to ensure that the child does not eat while watching the TV.
